Mechanical Project Engineer
Role Description The Mechanical Engineer role at HMR Hiring’s client is a full-time, on-site position based in St Louis, MO. In this role, the Mechanical Engineer will design and develop mechanical components and systems, create detailed models and drawings using CAD tools, and perform engineering calculations to ensure performance, safety, and reliability. Daily responsibilities include collaborating with cross-functional teams, speaking with customers and vendors, supporting R&D activities, reviewing specifications, and contributing to continuous improvement of products and processes. The Mechanical Engineer will also participate in project planning, communicate progress to stakeholders, and assist in testing, validation, and documentation of engineering solutions.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong Mechanical Engineering fundamentals, including knowledge of mechanics, electromechanics, materials, and manufacturing processes.
- Candidates should possess skills in Machine Design and Computer-Aided Design (CAD) for creating, analyzing, and refining mechanical components and assemblies.
- Candidates should possess capabilities in Project Management for planning tasks, tracking timelines, coordinating with team members, and ensuring project milestones are met.
- Candidates should possess experience in Research and Development (R&D) for exploring new concepts, prototyping, testing, and improving existing designs.
- Relevant qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field, proficiency with common CAD software (such as SolidWorks, Inventor, or AutoCAD), and familiarity with industry standards and regulations.
- Additional beneficial skills include problem-solving, analytical thinking, clear technical communication, ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications, and experience working in a manufacturing or product development environment.
Compensation
Dependent on experience, $85-95k
